Persian new year (Nowruz) celebration. Translated to "new day”, Nowruz is an ancient celebration of vernal equinox - a universal time of rebirth and renewal for nature. Celebrated by more than 98 million people worldwide, the celebration is full of colors, cooking special cuisine, music, dance and sharing the good fortune with others. The event will be held on March 22, 2025 at TCU place.
Yalda

To prepare for the festivities associated with Yalda, Homa Civic Association, will organize a Yalda/Winter Bazaar (Market) in Saskatoon in December 14, 2025 at Grace-Westminster United Church, where many vendors from local entrepreneurs, food catering businesses and independent craft and culinary artists will showcase their products. Our community bazaar isn't just a marketplace; it's a celebration of connection, where bonds are strengthened, where bonds are strengthened, and memories are made. Come join us and celebrate Yalda among the colorful stalls and the aromatic scents of homemade traditional food, delicacies, special artisan goods, handmade crafts, paintings, and more! To welcome the spring and to prepare for the festivities associated with Nowruz, Homa Civic Association, will organize a Nowruz Bazaar (Market) in Saskatoon in March 2025 at Grace-Westminster United Church, where many vendors from local entrepreneurs, food catering businesses and independent craft and culinary artists will showcase their products. Our community bazaar isn't just a marketplace; it's a celebration of connection, where bonds are strengthened, where bonds are strengthened, and memories are made. Come join us and celebrate the arrival of Spring among the colorful stalls and the aromatic scents of homemade traditional food, delicacies, special artisan goods, handmade crafts, paintings, Haftsin supplies and more! Product sale is available only by cash or e-transfer. The 2025 Nowruz market will be on March 15, 2025. More details to come.

Feathers of Fire

Renowned New York- based multidiciplinary and multimedia artist, Hamid Rahmanian, joined the audience at Broadway Theatre for a special screening of the cinematic adaption of his acclaimed shadow theatre, Feathers of Fire, based on stories from Shannameh(The Epics of The Persian kings), the masterpiece of eleventh-century Persian poet, Ferdowsi.
